Crusader Atlas

All Crusader sites in the atlas

This page lists every Crusader-era site catalogued by the atlas — 170 entities in total, including 3 capital citys, 52 major castle / fortresss, 15 walled town / citadels, 41 tower or smaller fortified sites, 29 church or religious sites, 20 battle (open-field engagement)s, and 10 sieges. They are sorted alphabetically below; click any entry to read its historical dossier, see surviving photographs, and pull up its location on the interactive map.

The atlas's coverage runs from Antioch in the north to Aqaba in the south, and from the Mediterranean coast eastwards into Transjordan, between the First Crusade (1099) and the fall of Acre (1291). For thematic groupings — Crusader castles in Galilee, Crusader churches, Crusader sieges — see the regional aggregator pages.
