Ramallah (al-Burj)
Also known as Ramalie
Al-Burj — 'the tower' — in the middle of what is now Ramallah preserves the surviving remains of a small medieval fortified building. The site is a reminder that Ramallah, like many of the hill-country villages, had a Frankish presence in the twelfth century.
