Nablus (Naples)

Nablus — Neapolis to the Romans, Naples to the Crusaders — was a major royal town in the heart of Samaria. The battered base of a large tower, presumed to be part of the town's castle, still stands in the old city alongside other medieval fragments. Crusader Nablus was the scene of a 1120 ecclesiastical council which issued a set of influential legal canons.
