Tel Ayalon (Castellum Arnoldi)

Also known as Yalo, Yalu, Castellum Arnoldi, Aijalon

Castellum Arnoldi, 'Arnold's Castle', stood at the entrance to the Ayalon Valley at Yalu, one of the classic invasion routes up to Jerusalem. It guarded the western flank of the kingdom's heartland. The medieval ruins survive today in the largely abandoned village area near Canada Park.
