Church of Saint Mary of the Germans (Jerusalem)

Romanesque church built in 1128 in the Jewish Quarter of Crusader Jerusalem as part of a larger German pilgrimage complex that included a hospital and hostel for German-speaking pilgrims. Partly destroyed in the 13th century during the Ayyubid recapture of Jerusalem; its ruins were rediscovered in 1968 during post-1967 archaeological work and are now preserved as an open-air monument.
